I don’t have a PayPal account. Do I have to use PayPal to register or make additional purchases at the site

All purchases at www.premarriageawareness.org use the PayPal system to receive payment. However, you do not have to have a PayPal account. When you come to the payment page you will find an option on the lower right side of the screen to use your credit card to make payment as a guest at PayPal without creating an account.

How do I register for the site and what does it cost?

  1. To register, click on the "Create Your account now" link located in the "First time visitor" box on the left side of the homepage www.premarriageawareness.org.
  2. Create a username, enter your email address, and register.
  3. When you click "Create New Account" an email will be sent to you with your temporary password. If you do not receive the email, check in your "junk" folder. Depending on your spam filter settings, email from unknown addresses may be sent there.
  4. Once you have received your temporary password you can login at the homepage using your Username and this password. When you login in you will come to a welcome screen that asks you to activate your account by completing payment using PayPal. Click on "Activate Now!"

    Important note: You can complete your payment using your PayPal account if you have one. If you do not have a PayPal account you can complete your payment as a guest at PayPal using your credit card. You will find this option on the lower right side of the page that appears when you click the “Activate Now!” button.

  5. When you have completed payment, click on the “return to premarriageawareness” link on the right side of the Paypal confirmation page. Clicking this link will bring you to your dashboard page. From this page you can use the product you have purchased (listed in the Inventories section), purchase additional Inventories or Profiles, or access Bookshelf titles: Administrator’s Portfolio (included with registration) and A Good Beginning (one-time extra fee).

Important note: We recommend that the first time you come to this page you change your password to something more familiar to you than the temporary password you were given during the registration process. To update your password, click on “My Account” in the upper right corner of the dashboard page, then click on the "Edit" tab. Enter your new password twice, then click “Save” at the bottom of the page.

How do I invite members of the couple to take the inventory?

On your dashboard page, click on “use now” at the right of the line indicating the number of Inventories (or Profiles) that you have available. On the page that appears, enter the first names and email addresses for members of the couple. When you click “Submit” an email will be sent to each member of the couple inviting them to take the inventory online. A link is included in that email. By clicking on the link, the individual will be taken to the inventory and invited to respond to the questions one at a time. When the individual has answered all questions, they are asked to submit their inventory.

Important note: If individuals do not receive their email invitation, ask them to check their spam or junk mail folders. Depending on the settings on the individual’s computer, messages from unknown addresses may be sent to those folders.

When you invite a couple to complete the inventory, a listing for that couple is added on your dashboard page. You will see whether individuals have completed the inventory, have the ability to send members a reminder email if they don’t complete the inventory, or allow them to take the inventory on your computer by clicking on "link."

When both inventories have been completed, you will see the "View Report" link appear at the right side of the page.

I entered an email address incorrectly and have already sent the invitation to the couple. How can I correct the email address and resend the invitation?

If you entered an email address incorrectly and have already sent the invitation you can remedy the problem with these two steps.

  1. Click “edit” to the far right of the row listing you’re your couple’s names. Enter the correct email in the appropriate box. Click “submit” at the bottom of the page.
  2. Click “remind” next to the individual’s name on your dashboard page. This will re-send the email invitation.

What is the difference between an Inventory and an Automated Profile?

The Inventory is the 119 item survey that the couple completes. When you purchase an Inventory you are able to invite members of a couple to take the inventory and see the compiled answers when you click on "view" to the right end of the row listing the couple's names. This link will not appear until both individuals have completed their inventory. The cost for one use of the Inventory is $9.95.

The Automated Profile adds commentary about the couple’s responses in each of 10 topic areas including: Sound Beginnings and Expectations, Communication, Sharing Feelings, Personality/Relating Style, Conflict Resolution/Problem-Solving, Family and Friends, Finances and Legal Issues, Sexuality, Life Style, and Religion. You can do this same assessment using guidance from the Administrator’s Portfolio if you wish, however this automated commentary can be a big time-saver and offer helpful direction to your conversations with the couple. You can see the compiled answers and commentary when you click on "view" to the right end of the row listing the couple's names. This link will not appear until both individuals have completed their inventory. The cost for one Automated Profile is $29.95 (and includes the Inventory).

Please note: If you want to receive the Automated Profile commentary for a couple, invite them to take the inventory using an Automated Profile "use" right from the start. It is not necessary to invite them to take the Basic Inventory first - it is included with an Automated Profile use.
